An old water color I discovered inside a coffee table book. I had painted this on a really stormy evening, about fifteen years back, in Calcutta. Made me miss the nor'westers a little. Made me keenly aware of the hot loneliness of deserts, of heartlessness of dust storms........ of things that bother me sometimes. Made me dream of water and high winds and tall trees and lush green paddy fields.
NW wind here in Arnhem means the air comes flowing in all the way from Iceland over the North Sea, then over some rural area, a lake and a pine forest (for aroma - interesting, the image shows very well How It's Done, I can almost smell the pine wood). It doesn't get any fresher than that over here, airwise. Rational mania weather!
Ooohhh. Makes me want to be there. You know, the image shown is not Pine, not many pines in Kolkata but a similar leafed tree with bright flowers that grew in our garden. Gosh, this painting is two decades old but I can still feel the rain moist winds on my skin when I look at this or think about the mighty storms we had.
this is gorgeous! i don't understand why it doesn't have that many comments!
